My mom raises me to be extremely careful around cops because of the color of my skin. As much as id like to say its not a problem for us ( black people ) we all know it is. Im not even allowed to wear hoodies in public and IF I do I know damn well I’m not about to go into the store with it on. Ive never committed a crime in my life so why should i act like in that certain way just because a white clerk might think I’m stealing. Same goes for cops its sad really

little things that help ease symptoms of depression:

  • turn the lights on and open a window
  • eat something healthy and drink ice cold water
  • find a comforting album to listen to whenever things get bad
  • take a long, relaxing bath
  • do yourself up in full make up and hair
  • be around people, even if you don’t think it will help
  • watch something funny on netflix
  • wear your favorite/most comfortable outfit
  • immerse yourself in a hobby like drawing
  • lose yourself in a really good book or movie

Last night my little sister (5th grade) was making an e-mail account

She saw gender and went to click female when she noticed the “other” choice

She looked at me confused and I started to explain that some people don’t think they fit in with strictly male or female

"Oh! You mean like transgender and stuff like that. I was freaked out for a second- I thought they meant robots."

Yet another example the kids are more open-minded than adults
